The Immaculate Conception Parish and the Parish Schools

The parish of Immaculate Conception is made up of three churches: Immaculate Conception (Tredegar), All Saints (Ebbw Vale), and St John (Rhymney).

The parish’s website is http://www.trevcatholics.co.uk

The parish actively supports and fosters strong relationships with the Catholic parish schools of Blessed Carlo Acutis, All Saints Catholic Primary, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. These schools are integral parts of the local Catholic community, providing spiritual, educational, and social growth opportunities for young learners.

Collaboration and Engagement

The parish regularly collaborates with the schools to enhance the spiritual formation of students. This includes organising events, shared liturgical celebrations, and catechetical support. Families from the parish often enrol their children in these schools to ensure a seamless integration of faith and education.

Liturgical Life

Father Richard Ayivi Aziati, a dedicated parish priest, plays a central role in this, inviting both students and staff to participate actively in the liturgical life of the parish. These celebrations are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging, encouraging students to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith.

At St. Joseph and All Saints Catholic Primary Schools, Father Richard and the chaplaincy team also lead liturgical celebrations, prayer services, and sacramental preparation programs, ensuring that the youngest members of the Catholic community are well-prepared for key milestones like Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

Shared Values

Both schools and the parish community emphasise shared values, such as compassion, service, and community. Students are often involved in parish outreach programs, including food drives, charity events, and service to the elderly. These activities strengthen the bond between the schools and the wider Catholic community.

Supporting Faith Education

The parish provides ongoing support for religious education, complementing the curricula of the three schools. Parish volunteers assist in organizing retreats, faith workshops, and youth group activities that align with the teachings of the Church.

Through this strong partnership, the parish, Blessed Carlo Acutis, All Saints, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School together create a nurturing environment where faith and learning flourish hand in hand.

Hospitals and Residential/Care homes.

Apart from attending to Catholics in the various residential/care homes within the boundaries of the parish, the parish priest also responds to calls to Ebbw Vale Hospital, Nevil Hall, and the Grange in Cwmbran. This is a source of great spiritual and pastoral support to families in their time of need.

Long may these collaborations live for the good of all peoples within the parish and its immediate environs.
